What information does Mobimax need to review a new project?

Share the destination market, intended use, product category or reference model, estimated annual volume, expected first order, target retail position and launch timing. Any non-negotiable motor, battery, certification or branding requirement should be included at the start.

What is the difference between an OEM and an ODM programme?

An OEM programme normally begins with an existing Mobimax platform and adapts branding, finish and available components. An ODM programme may include structural changes, new geometry, tooling and a dedicated validation plan. The practical route is confirmed after the brief is reviewed.

Can we start from an existing Mobimax model?

Yes. Starting from a current platform is usually the fastest way to test a market and control development cost. The selected model still needs to be reviewed against your market, specification, branding and documentation requirements.

Who does Mobimax typically work with?

Mobimax supports importers, distributors, established brands, mobility operators and product teams that need a defined electric-vehicle programme rather than a generic catalogue purchase.

Models & Customization

Which electric vehicle categories are available?

The current platform range includes city, folding, mountain, fat-tyre and cargo e-bikes, electric scooters, electric off-road models and light electric motorcycles. Availability and specification depend on the programme and destination market.

What branding elements can be customized?

Depending on the platform, branding may include paint and finish, frame graphics, logos, packaging, manuals, regulatory labels and selected digital touchpoints. Artwork and colour references are approved before production.

Can we choose the motor, battery, display and drivetrain?

Available systems can be configured around the target use case, price position and market. A proposed combination must pass engineering review because motor, controller, battery, charger, firmware and braking decisions affect one another.

Can we nominate our own component supplier?

Customer-nominated components can be reviewed when complete technical documentation and representative samples are available. Integration, reliability, certification and supply continuity must be assessed before the component is approved.

Can one platform be configured for several markets?

Yes, but firmware, labels, equipment and documents may differ by destination. Each market version is treated as a controlled configuration, not as a last-minute shipping change.

MOQ, Samples & Costs

What is the minimum order quantity?

MOQ depends on the selected platform, component availability, customization level, packaging and production route. Existing-model and full ODM programmes are assessed separately, so the applicable order structure is confirmed with the quotation.

Can we order a sample before mass production?

Yes. A sample is normally built against the agreed specification for buyer review. Production does not begin until the sample, specification and any recorded changes are approved in writing.

When are tooling or development fees required?

Tooling, engineering and sample charges depend on the amount of structural or system work required. Existing-platform branding normally needs less development investment than a dedicated frame, housing or new vehicle architecture.

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing is based on the approved bill of materials, order quantity, customization, packaging, production route, validation scope and commercial terms. A model name alone is not enough to create a reliable project price.

How long does a custom e-bike project take?

Timing depends on specification readiness, component lead times, tooling, sample revisions, testing and production capacity. Mobimax provides a stage-based schedule after the project scope has been reviewed.

Engineering & Validation

What is included in engineering review?

The agreed review may cover frame and design-for-manufacture, electrical-system matching, firmware, battery and BMS, braking, bill-of-material construction and risks created by the proposed combination.

Does Mobimax have in-house R&D and vehicle validation capabilities?

Yes. Mobimax operates an independent R&D centre and a complete-vehicle testing and validation centre. Its engineering scope includes product design, vehicle architecture, motor and controller integration, electrical systems, prototype development, calibration, testing and production validation.

What do EVT, DVT and PVT mean?

These are progressive validation stages used where the programme requires them: engineering samples confirm the concept, design validation checks the agreed design, and production validation confirms that the manufacturing process can repeat it. The exact stage plan is project-specific.

Can Mobimax support certification?

Mobimax can support planning and documentation for applicable EU, UK, US and Japan routes. The required standards, test programme and certificate holder must be confirmed against the final model, configuration and destination market.

Are certificates shared across every model and configuration?

No. Reports and certificates are model-, configuration-, component- and market-specific. Evidence should always be checked against the exact vehicle, approved bill of materials and current document revision.

What happens if the specification changes after approval?

A proposed change is documented and reviewed before implementation. Changes to critical systems may require a new sample, additional validation, revised documentation or a schedule and cost adjustment.

Production & Quality

Where can a Mobimax programme be produced?

Mobimax's principal large-scale manufacturing base is in Nantong, China, with annual capacity above 300,000 units. Wuxi provides engineering and programme support. Delivery, documentation and after-sales requirements are then planned for the selected destination market.

Can we choose the production country?

Production is planned from the China-based engineering and manufacturing operation for the selected product and programme. Origin, duty exposure, certification, component supply, capacity, transit and after-sales planning should be considered together.

How is production quality controlled?

The project quality plan defines incoming, in-process and final controls, their frequency, acceptance criteria, required records and release authority. The exact plan is confirmed against the approved product and order.

Can we arrange a pre-shipment inspection?

Yes. Inspection scope, sample size, acceptance criteria, reporting and any third-party involvement should be agreed before production so the release decision is clear.

Is component and batch traceability available?

Traceability fields can be defined for the programme, including serial number, build date, production route, battery or motor batch and inspection record. The final fields and retention period depend on the agreed production and warranty process.

Delivery & After-sales

What affects production and delivery lead time?

Specification approval, component procurement, testing, production capacity, inspection, shipping method, customs and destination all affect timing. Project dates are confirmed against the selected route rather than promised as a generic number.

Which documents are supplied with an order?

The document pack is agreed per project and may include commercial and shipping documents, manuals, labels, inspection records and applicable technical or certification evidence. Availability depends on the model, market and certificate scope.

How are spare parts and warranty handled?

Warranty boundaries, evidence requirements, service parts, stocking route and availability period are agreed by component and project. They should be confirmed before launch rather than assumed from a generic policy.

Can our team visit the factory or review production remotely?

Factory discussions, visits and remote walkthroughs can be arranged around an active programme, subject to schedule, site access and confidentiality requirements.

What should we provide when reporting a field issue?

Provide the model and serial number, delivery or order reference, clear photos or video, operating conditions, failure description and any service findings. This allows the issue to be triaged against the product and production record.
