E-BIKE SOURCING / Spain

Give city mobility a clear role in your Spanish range.

Define the customer, channel and riding task before choosing a specification. Compare city platforms for everyday journeys, and assess technical sport, rental and delivery briefs separately.

YOUR CHANNEL / YOUR CUSTOMER

Separate urban customers from specialist operating needs.

Give the city range a clear role in your dealer or online offer. Treat sport riding, rental and delivery as distinct requirements rather than variations of one generic specification.

Use the rider and channel to explain each model choice.

Selection prompts for your project; not claims about national channel shares or approved model use.

MARKET CONTEXT

Urban electrification deserves its own buying brief.

AMBE reports that e-bikes accounted for 21.5% of bicycle units sold in Spain in 2025. Within the urban bicycle category, 55.4% of units sold were electric. These are different denominators, not a ranking of individual models.

Our selection approach is to give everyday city riding a clear product role. The wider importance of sport cycling does not make a city model a technical mountain bike or establish demand for a particular Mobimax model.

Research reviewed 28 October 2026. Retail observations are not national sales rankings.

01 / DEFINE THE ROLE

Which brief matches your customer?

01

Everyday urban mobility

For a brand or distributor building a city offer around fit, equipment and service. Define why each model belongs in the range.

02

Mid-drive city comparison

For buyers comparing assistance and gearing for their actual route. Retail listings show this format; they do not establish a nationwide price or sales ranking.

03

Specialist use or fleet

Keep technical trails, rental operations and delivery shifts on a separate review path, with operating conditions and sample validation defined first.

02 / COMPARE STARTING POINTS

Reference platforms to discuss.

Selected for the use cases above. These are not market sales rankings or confirmation of a destination-approved configuration.

03 / BEFORE CHOOSING A CONFIGURATION

Resolve the questions that affect the product.

Which channel and customer?

Separate dealer retail, online sales, rental and delivery. Define the target price position and the support available to the rider.

City route or technical riding?

Record surfaces, gradients, distance and rider needs. A mountain-style appearance or motor rating does not establish suitability for technical trails.

What is the final market version?

Agree the configuration, required documents, Spanish customer materials and importer responsibilities. Review any local operating requirements before confirming the offer.

Questions buyers ask.

Does 55.4% mean urban e-bikes made up all those national sales?

No. AMBE’s 55.4% figure refers to electrification within urban bicycle sales in 2025. Its 21.5% figure refers to e-bikes within total bicycle units sold.

Should the same version serve retail, rental and delivery?

Start with separate briefs. Usage, charging, load, inspections and maintenance can differ, so a fleet version requires project assessment and sample validation.

Is this the same guide as the Spanish-language Latin America page?

No. This guide concerns sourcing for Spain and is currently in English. The Spanish-language Latin America introduction addresses a different destination context.
